The Smart rotation feature uses the front camera to sense when you are looking at your device and keeps your screen from rotating based on your face’s orientation.
If you are viewing your device in portrait mode and happen to lie back on your couch, the screen remains in portrait mode.
Method of Activation
1.From the Home screen, tap the Menu key
2.Tap Settings
3.Tap My Device
4.Tap Display
5.Make sure the box beside Auto-Rotate Screen is checked
6.Tap the Back Key
7.Scroll down and tap Smart Screen
8.Tap the check box beside Smart Rotation
9.Tap OK
10.The phone will use the front facing camera to detect the angle of your face and rotate the screen accordingly
Situations in which Smart rotation do not work
1-When the front camera fails to detect face and eyes.
2-When the source of the light is behind you or when using the device in the dark.
3-When the front camera is already in use by another application.
4-When you are currently using other gestures, such as Air View.
